HPR’s NEW Roku Channel Now Available!

RokuHeartland Public Radio’s brand new Roku channel/app is now available for download! If you had our previous channel loaded into your Roku device(s), you will most likely have to manually install this new channel/app; it probably will not automatically update.

On the surface, there seems to be very little difference between this new channel/app and our previous release. However, “under the hood” things are much different. Firstly, we were required by Roku to redesign our channel/app using newer programming elements because the company had discontinued support (or deprecated) many of their early-generation programming elements. The really good news is that during this updating process, Heartland Public Radio was able to implement the ability to dynamically adjust the links to our broadcast channels from within this new Roku channel/app. So, the bottom line is that we will now have the ability to include our seasonal channel HPR3: Heartland Christmas on the HPR Roku channel/app!

There are two different ways to easily re-add (or add for the first time) Heartland Public Radio’s Roku channel/app. You can do it right here via this web browser or via your Roku device.

Add HPR’s Roku Channel/App from Here:

  1. Click this link: https://channelstore.roku.com/details/ea1755e7d7c122cd4ecc023feaadd048
  2. When you land on the HPR Channel Page on the Roku website, click the “Add Channel” button
  3. If you are already logged into your Roku account, then the HPR Roku Channel will be added – you’re done.
  4. If you’re not logged into your Roku account, you will be prompted to do so. After you finish logging in, click the “Add Channel” button again, and you will be done.

Add HPR’s Roku Channel/App from your Roku Device:

  1. Press the Home button on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Streaming Channels to open the Channel Store
  3. Scroll and select Search Channels
  4. In the search box, enter HPR
  5. Select the HPR Heartland Public Radio channel/app and install it

This update also makes Heartland Public Radio’s Roku channel/app available to listeners in the following Roku Channel Store regions and beyond: Ireland, Peru, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, France, Chile, Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, Germany, Canada, El Salvador, Argentina, United Kingdom, Colombia, Australia, Brazil.
